Animal Science Department was established in 1970. Professor Ko, F.C., a prominent pig husbandry scientist, was the first Department chairman. Subsequent chairmen included professor Shi, L.S., professor Won, S.C., and professor Huang, I.K.. The present Department chairman is Dr. Lin, T.Y.. More than thirteen hundred students have been graduated since the first graduation in 1974. The faculty members of the Department are highly qualified in their respective fields and the facilities are expanding dramatically in the recent years, thanks to the fundings from the government and the University. The number of faculty members and lab facilities will expand continuously in the years ahead in order to provide a better and more challenging environment for the prospective Animal Science students.
