Global warming and climate change are two
buzz phrases, two harsh realities, that know no boundaries.
No matter where we live in the world, or what political party we belong
to, global warming and climate change are two phenomena that will affect
us, our families, and our surroundings. There is no doubt things have to
be done immediately to 'cool things down'. However, nothing is going to
happen if we wait for governments alone to do something about it.
It is time that today, this very minute, all of us must do our part and
do what we can as individuals. Earth Week on Campus Teach-in is
a cooperative venture of the Graduation Pledge Alliance – Chinese Culture
University (GPA-CCU), a group of teachers and students at the Chinese Culture
University who are advocating social-environmental responsibility among
the faculty and student body ( www2.pccu.edu.tw/pledge ).

by setting aside this week as an Earth Week on
Campus Teach-in we
hope to illustrate the many ways that students, no matter what their
field of study, can become a part of the solution to this immense
problem of global warming and climate change. 「全球暖化」與「氣候轉變」是兩個時髦的說辭或是兩個殘酷的事實 - 他們沒有界線。不論我們身處何方或是我們的政黨背景為何，「全球暖化」與「氣候轉變」這兩種現象將會影響我們、我們的家庭以及我們所處的環境。毫無疑問的，我們必須要立即處理此事，讓地球逐漸冷卻下來。然而，如果我們只是靜靜的等待政府部門來處理，那麼很可能什麼事也不會改變。
在今日、此時此刻，我們所有的人都需要負起責任，做我們每一個人份內所需要做的事。 華岡校園地球週 是中國文化大學畢業宣言的一個活動，由中國文化大學的一群教師與學生在學校內對教職員以及
全體 學生倡導對社會與環境所需盡的責任。
一種尋求簡單且更豐富的生活的慾望，使得台灣人擁有過多、過剩的物品，因而導致土地、水源與空氣的污染與退化。現在正是我們從任意丟棄或廢置物品的時代，轉換成持續使用並且重複使用物品的新時代。 華岡校園地球週 (4
月 28 日至 5 月 2 日 ) 我們希望能向各個不同領域的學生闡述不同解決方式，讓他們能在「全球暖化」與「氣候轉變」的嚴重問題下，貢獻一己之力。
